The 2022 Ram 1500 sports a bold look but isn't as commanding or unique as the Sierra 1500. It has a smaller grille with a basic headlight design that won't stand out as much on the road. Plus, the Ram 1500 does not come standard with LED lighting or fog lamps, but the Sierra 1500 does. Furthermore, the Ram 1500 comes standard with only 18-inch steel wheels, whereas the Sierra 1500 comes standard with 20-inch aluminum wheels.

When it comes to interior design and features, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 takes the cake. It showcases a luxurious and feature-filled cabin with high-tech additions and various comfort and convenience features. Plus, the Sierra 1500 boasts the distinction of being the most luxurious pickup in its class with the high-tier Denali Ultimate trim.
The Ram 1500 does its part to stay competitive with other trucks on interior luxury, but the GMC Sierra 1500 still outclasses it. The Sierra 1500 has noticeably more head- and legroom for front and rear passengers and offers more modern technology than the Ram 1500 to keep passengers entertained. Enjoy the Google built-in compatibility, the 13.4-inch-diagonal infotainment display, and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster inside the 2022 Sierra 1500. The Ram 1500 does not offer any of these features, with the digital instrument cluster only going up to 7 inches and the infotainment system going up to 12 inches but only on the two most expensive trim levels.

Both vehicles have various engine options based on your wants, needs, and priorities. The GMC Sierra 1500 offers four engine and three automatic transmission options. The standard engine is a 2.7-litre turbocharged high-output engine that produces 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The most powerful engine is the available 6.2-litre EcoTec V8 which delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Also, the Sierra 1500 offers best-in-class diesel horsepower and 4WD diesel towing of up to 13,000 pounds.
The Ram 1500 also offers four engine options. Under the hood of the base model, you'll find a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 that produces 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful engine that the Ram 1500 offers is the available 6.2-litre Supercharged HEMI V8 which delivers 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. All engine options are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Although the Ram 1500 may provide more power with its 6.2-litre V8 engine, the truck can only tow up to 12,750 pounds, which is outclassed by the Sierra 1500.
